I don't remember seeing the Weber Kettle Work Table http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846
on these pages. I have on and love it.
Webers:
Red 18,5 & 22.5 (with work table) both from CL
SJP (portable 18.5) black
18.5 WSM (often on red 18.5 kettle base) with handles, lid thermo & ceramic saucer mod)
22.5 Performer, new style with plastic table.
Yes, I appreciate Webers :thumb:

Just picked up a 22.5 Weber Kettle for $20 on Craigslist. Once I clean it up, I will take some pics to add to this thread. Score!

Hi,
Where do you insert wires for temerature probes on a Kettle when doing long cooks?
Thanks,
Don

I run my maverick wires through the vent holes in the lid. That prevents the lid from pinching the wires but you do have to be careful when opening the lid so you don't pull the probe out of the meat.

I put them through the vent holes on the lid, but I'd love to know if someone has a better set up because it is a huge pain any time I lift the lid. I also have to move a table of some kind right next to the kettle to set the receiver on. Wish I had a performer and then I think it would be a little easier.

Same here. I balance the receiver on Weber's pull handle, and disconnect the wire from the receiver when opening the lid.

i just lay the wire over the lip and carefully put the lid on. i've had no problems doing this now for years. you could just put in a grommet in the body for this like they do on the wsm.

man, some serious kettle appreciation going on here! I have a smokey joe and a 22, and a WSM, but never use them since I got the Primo about 2 years ago..the smokey joe is good for camping, and sometimes I take the 22 to the nascar race, but other then that it sits on my deck looking lonely! The WSM is at a neighbor's house who is just starting to get into bbq, so at least it is getting used

I'm in!!!!!
Just picked up my 1st real kettle from a CL listing... I say real kettle cuz I have a smokey joe silver (just made it into a mini UDS the other night) but it's no 22 & a halfer, that's for sure!!
Got me a Cherry Red one with wood handles - still intact even!!
Has a few chips in the lid where it looks like it took a tumble out of the back of a pickup or something, but the lid closes nicely and no rust...
Date stamp of "H" does that make it like an 86' or somethin'?
I'll post some pics once I clean it up!

Saw an add recently on CL for a SJS and an 18 incher...free by the curb about a mile from my house.
Threw my two-year-old son in the truck and hauled arse over and there they were...poor things. Neglected, dirty, sap drippings, weeds over growing them.
Cleared out the weeds and found a nice SJS (which was really what I was after) and then looked closer at the 18 incher and it was an OTG! Hurt leg but in good shape other than that...and the sap. First and only 18"OTG I've seen on CL.
Cleaned up and ready to go.

Where do you all go for all the goodies you can use on a performer? I need to start a list. Have seen some like Cajun Bandit and Rib-O-Lator, How bout CI grates and other things. The Weber site did not seem to have that much on it.
