Chapter 1

Custard were the target of the I.M.P business, a demon from hell hired them to kill him.
Blizto crashed through a portal from my ceiling while I was enjoying some time laying in bed. He cursed loudly and stood up, but saw me and pulled out a gun.
“Hey BITCH! I’m here to kill ya.”
At least he was straightforward.
“Oh um..no thank you.”
I shook my head and got out of bed, putting my book down. My head was quirked slightly to the side but my face stayed blank.
Blitzto took a step back, staring at me with an eyebrow raised.
"What do you mean, 'no thank you-'? I'm here to kill you. Someone hired me from hell to kill you on the spot."
He pointed his gun at me.
I swiped my head and the gun dissolved into nothing, leaving nothing but blue particles behind.
“I don’t really want to die if that’s okay. I’m sorry.”
I shook my head and I looked at Blitzo up and down, looking at the horns and red skin of the imp, my eyebrows raised slightly. I haven’t seen anything like him before.
“You’re not a spirit?”
Blitzto looked puzzled as his gun disappeared. He scratched the back of his head and shrugged.
"Nope. I'm a demon, as I said: A hell creature sent here to kill you. So-"
He pulled out a dagger instead and lunged at me.
I disappeared and came back from behind him, I whipped my arm to the side, causing Blitzo to slam into the wall, I squeaked. I didn’t mean to hurt him.
I walked over and took the dagger from his hand.
“I’m sorry, are you okay?”
I disregarded his statement of him being a demon, I would have to deal with that later.
When I took the dagger from Blitzo he stood up and dusted himself off, his face slightly red with embarrassment.
“I’m fine. You know that trick caught me off guard though.”
“But the question still remains, if I’m not able to harm you, then how exactly am I meant to kill you then?”
“I don’t want you to kill me. I haven’t finished the book I’m reading.”
I seemed genuinely upset about dying before I was able to finish reading the book which sat idle on my bed.
As we spoke Blitzo kept up with his attacks but I kept teleporting away before he could touch me.
Blitzo scoffed at me and his face twisted into anger.
"Look, the fact that you're still standing alive when I was specifically sent here to KILL you pisses me off."
Blitzo cracks his neck, getting tired of this whole situation, it was supposed to be easier than this.
"You're making me want to just rip your neck off with my bare hands... But I was sent here to kill you, so let me tell you this-"
His eyes narrowed.
"You're making my life 1000% harder.”
“Someone wants me dead? Who?”
I knew I made a lot of enemies with spirits seeing how it was my job to dispel them at the request of someone being haunted by it. But I’ve never killed a human nor have I ever been mean enough to someone for them to want me dead..other than..oh no.
“Wait, but that wasn’t my fault.”
I looked distressed, blue glowed around me, a cyan aura. The only person that could ever hate me was my old friend’s brother. Ritsu. He loathed me after Mob, his brother died and I took his place.
Blitzo looked at me for a few moments, before sighing.
"Honestly, I don't even know who hired me. All I know is that they're in hell and they want you dead. And- Wait, hold on a minute."
I paused for a moment too long, Blitzo managed to land a long scratch across my face, blood gushed out and I screamed and teleported away. Leaving nothing but my destroyed room, splattered blood across the floor and Blitzo in the middle of it.
Before I managed to teleport away completely I could still see Blitzo stare at me, his eyes narrowing. He began to look around the room before stopping once he noticed his dagger on the floor. He picked up the dagger, wiped off the blood, and ran his fingers through his horns.
“Something tells me I have an idea about who ordered a hit on you.”
Blitzo called Loona and got back to hell through the grimoras portal, he scrolled through his contact list until he found the client's number, Ritsu. He died via suicide, landing himself in hell for it. Blitzo explained what happened to me and it’d take longer to kill me. Riko hung up and appeared at the office a moment later.
Ritsu had a dark colored palette, dark hair that was inky and floated off him, he had a forever bloody head from bashing it in until it killed him. And he looked f*cking pissed. He pointed at Blitzo and hissed.
“I gave you one goddamn job. KILL THAT SON OF A BITCH AND YOU DIDN'T.”
Blitzo flinched when Riko pointed at him, he gulped nervously and took a step back.
"Well, I mean, I-I tried- It's just that they're just so goddamn annoying and they won't die-"
Blitzo looked at Riko with wide eyes as he talked and tried to justify the fact that he hadn't been able to kill you yet.
Riko grabbed him by the neck, with Blitzo’s other colleagues out, he was alone with this deranged sinner.
“I don’t give half a f*cking sh*t if he’s an esper, he could be Jesus himself, kill him. I WANT HIM DEAD.”
And then Riko dropped him, he took a breath and smoothed his clothes out, he looked down at the imp in front of him.
“The next time you contact me, he better be dead.”
He spat and then disappeared.
Blitzo laid on the ground, he gasped for air, and his breathing only became heavier as he started to panic a little bit. It felt like he was about to die for a moment there.
"Holy shi-"
Blitz muttered under his breath and began to shakily get to his feet. His heart rate started to slow down a little bit as he thought to himself.
"Damnit. He’s lucky he’s paying me a sh*t ton."
The next day Blitzo got himself ready, gearing up with weapons and all sorts of other magical things given to him by Stolas, which came with the price of being showered in kisses by the royal man. Blitzo got to the I.M.P office, while Millie offered to come he said no, risking his colleagues was too cruel even for him. Loona opened the portal to the human realm and he went through.
Blitzo was back in my room again, it was clean once again, nothing out of place or to hint at the struggle that happened the other day. Only thing missing was me, I must be somewhere in the apartment. The hunt was on now.
Blitzo crept through the apartment silently, his eyes darting back and forth as he tried to spot even the tiniest bit of movement or sound. He made his way over to the bedroom door while still being as quiet as a mouse, trying so desperately hard to not make a single sound. He wanted to get this right, he wanted to make sure you were dead by now. He'd do anything to impress Ritsu so he didn't get killed and got money.
A man walked into the bedroom, he had faded ginger and blonde hair and a lanky build, he wore a gray suit, it was a formal look.
The man looked startled to see Blitzo. He gripped the frame of the doorway, finally he tore away from it and booked it away.
Blitzo’s eyes widened as the man made eye contact with him, he didn't expect someone to suddenly walk in. Immediately, the imp made a dash for the human, pulling out a knife that had been sharpened the night before after the talk with Ritsu.

As he ran after the fleeing human Blitzo called out, his voice raised slightly.
"Come back here you bastard!"
“CUSTARD WE GOT A SPIRIT KID!”
The man yelled as he crashed through my apartment, he threw the door open and kept running. I had been cleaning dishes in the kitchen. I watched as the demon that tried to take my life the other day chased Reigen. My boss. I put the soapy plate down and ran after. Once in range I reached my hand out and caught Blitzo in a ring of blue magic, suspending him in the air. Reigen wheezed in exacerbation.
“Expel it! What are you waiting for, kid?”
He coughed out. I pursed my lips slightly at the demon before looking at Reigen.
“I can’t. He’s not a spirit. He’s a demon.”
As Reigen stopped to speak to me, Blitzo let out a snarl, his teeth bared. He struggled to keep himself contained, his sharp teeth glistened in the flickering light in the hallway ceiling.

"Yeah, I am. And guess who sent me here? Ritsu, the one who hired me as a contract killer. He wants your soul."
Blitzo stared at you with a crazed look in his eyes, his breathing started to pick up slightly.
Reigen looked surprised to hear that name, he looked back at me and I nodded.
“It’s Mob’s brother. He hired this demon in hell to kill me.”
Reigen looked troubled by this news, he stood up and brushed himself off.
“What do you plan on doing, kid?”
I looked like I already knew the answer and it troubled me. I turned to the demon.
“Can I come to hell with you? I want to speak with Ritsu please.”
Blitzo scoffed at the idea of taking me to hell with him, he let out a sharp laugh and shook his head. He crossed his arms over his chest, his teeth still barred.
"Why the hell should I bring you to hell with me, huh? If I do that I'll get in BIG trouble with the big boss of hell himself, and I have to kill you! So why would I take that risk just to let you chat with some other human-"
Blitzo’s face went from a co*cky expression to one of confusion.*
"Wait. You're coming willingly?"
“Yes. If you ensure my safety and won’t kill me,”
I pulled out a crumpled piece of scrap paper from my pocket and a pen, Reigen grabbed my sleeve.
“Are you sure you know what you’re doing? I don’t want you dying on me.”
I smiled. The most emotion I’ve shown so far. It was a small but gentle smile. I pulled Reigen in for a quick hug.
“Trust me sir,”
And I held the pen and paper up to Blitzo.
“Sign it so you won’t actually try and back stab me.”
Blitzo looked back and forth between Reigen and I before he groaned loudly, his eyes rolling as he snatched the piece of paper from you. He quickly signed the paper with his name and handed it back to you.
He muttered under his breath as he spoke.
"I will not try to hurt you anymore, I will only attack when you ask me to, and I will take you safely back here if the mission is a bust... Happy?"
“Very. Thank you..”
I looked at the name on the paper.
“Blitz.”
As I said his name, Blitzo felt a strange feeling in his stomach, he had a small look of surprise on his face before it quickly faded and his teeth were bared again.
I let him down from the magic field that kept him suspended. I gave one last look to Reigen, before a portal opened and Blitzo pulled me through.
"Yeah, yeah. Let's just go."
As he said this he began to pull you through the portal, which sent cold air rushing over the two of us as I entered the portal and the cold air was quickly left behind. I felt the temperature change drastically as you fell through the portal, the world of the living was left behind and I found myself in the depths of hell.*
I crashed to the floor of the I.M.P office, I let out a little wince as I sat up. Loona, the one who opened the portal for us, looked surprised to see me. A human, she whipped her face over to Blitzo.
“What the hell did you just bring over?”
She snarled at him, she picked me up like a cat, holding me by the collar of my shirt.
Blitzo scoffed when Loona grabbed hold of you, he rolled his eyes while she kept you in her grip, holding you like a little damp cat.
"Hey, I don't like having a human in my office either; but I'm just listening to what the client wants. It's not my fault I got caught."
Blitzo said back to Loona with a shrug, his horns shimmered underneath the lights of the office in the corner of your eye.
Loona shook me slightly. I accepted my fate.
“Blitz. Do you know how much trouble you can get in for bringing a *human* here? He’s going to need a demon disguise before you do anything else,”
*Her face scrunched up in annoyance.*
“Why the f*ck do I have to be the responsible one?”
*She let me out and I fell to the floor again with a thud, she ran her fingers through her mused hair, not happy with the situation at hand.*
*Blitzö crossed his arms over his chest and rolled his eyes, he muttered under his breath while Loona spoke. Once she was done, he let out a huff and placed his hands on his hips.*

"Yeah, yeah, I know."

*Blitzo looked over at you with a sigh, his eyes wandering over your body before he looked back at Loona.*

"So how the hell are we supposed to put a disguise on them? Magic?"

“No sh*t dumbass.”
Loona rolled her eyes and opened the grimora, she flipped through the pages, my eyes flicked between the two as they argued. Finally she found the right page, a red and pink glow came off her hand and I suddenly transformed, getting black and white horns, a spear tail and a light red color over my eggshell white skin, my gray hair stayed the same. I looked like a little imp. I touched my horns and looked at all the changes, seemingly fascinated with the new look. It was almost hard to believe I was the most powerful esper to exist.
