veg crispy recipe | crispy veg recipe | veg crispy chinese recipe with step by step photo and video recipe. an ideal party starter or can be used for light evening snack which would be appreciated by all age groups including kids. the taste and texture is very similar to manchurian recipe but has the extra crisp because of the corn flour batter. once the veggies are deep fried to crisp, it is then tossed with manchurian sauce to get the extra tangy and spicy taste.
i have shared quite a few street food from indo chinese cuisine, but veg crispy is my all time new favourite recipes. perhaps it the extra crisp with this recipe could be the primary reason, as there isn’t much difference from the veg manchurian recipe. also comparatively, veg crispy is much easier to cook and prepare compared to later. it is so addictive that trust you would never end up with just one bite. my first encounter with this recipe was last month when i my husband organised a surprise dinner party for me. initially i was hesitant to try the crispy veg but i was already in love with this recipe after my first bite.
furthermore, some important tips and recommendations for a perfect veg crispy recipe. firstly, you can use any choice of dry vegetables for this recipe, but make sure it is dry and wipe of any moisture present. secondly, if you prefer to have extra crispy,coat some corn flour to the veggies before coating with the batter. this would ensure the deep fried veggies would end up having a crisp texture. finally, tossing the deep fried veggies in a manchurian sauce is optional and you can serve it plain tomato ketchup or sweet chili sauce as veg tempura.

Ingredients
for batter:
- ¼ cup maida / plain flour / all-purpose flour
- ½ cup corn flour
- ½ tsp pepper, crushed
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp vinegar
- salt to taste
- water as required
vegetables:
- 1 capsicum red and green, cubed
- 3 baby corn, chopped
- 2 mushrooms, cut
- 10 gobi / cauliflower, florets
other ingredients:
- oil for deep frying
- 2 tsp oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 green chilli, slit
- 4 tbsp spring onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp chilli sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- salt to taste
Instructions
firstly, in a large mixing bowl prepare a flowing consistency batter.
now add in vegetables of your choice and coat well with batter.
also deep fry in hot oil.
stir occasionally, till it turns crunchy and slightly golden brown.
drain off the vegetables on to the kitchen towel and keep aside.
now prepare the sauce by heating up oil.
add in 2 cloves garlic, 1 green chilli and 2 tbsp spring onion.
saute on high flame for a minute.
additionally, add 1 tbsp chilli sauce, 2 tbsp tomato sauce, 1 tsp soy sauce and salt to taste.
mix well on high flame till the sauces gets combined well.
now add in fried vegetables and give a quick stir.
also add in chopped spring onions.
finally, serve veg crispy hot as a starters or along with fried rice.

how to make veg crispy chinese with step by step photo:

- now add in cubed capsicum.
- also add in3 baby corn,2 mushrooms and 10gobi.
- coat the vegetables well withbatter.
- now deep fry in hot oil. else the vegetables will not be crispy.
- stir occasionally, till it turns crunchy and slightly golden brown.
- drain off the vegetables on to the kitchen towel and keep aside.
- now prepare the sauce by heating up oil.
- add in2 cloves garlic,1 green chilli and 2 tbsp spring onion.
- saute on high flame for a minute.
- additionally, add1 tbsp chilli sauce, 2 tbsp tomato sauce,1 tsp soy sauce and salt to taste.
- mix well on high flame till the sauces gets combined well.

notes:
- firstly, add any vegetables of choice like broccoli, beans, carrot and onions.
- also add more tomato sauce if you prepare more saucy.
- additionally, add crushed pepper to increase the spiciness and flavours.
- finally, enjoy veg crispy hot garnished with some toasted sesame seeds.
