Phillies' Trea Turner: Runs at higher intensity Saturday
Rotowire
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that Turner (hamstring) ran at a higher intensity Saturday, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Turner could progress to running the bases as soon as the Phillies' series in San Francisco against the Giants which begins Monday. He will need to complete that step and also see live pitching before being cleared to begin a rehab assignment, but rehab games wouldn't seem to be too terribly far off if he continues moving in the right direction.

Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Sitting down Saturday
Rotowire
Realmuto isn't in the Phillies' lineup Saturday against the Rockies.
After going 2-for-5 in a loss during Friday's series opener, Realmuto will get a breather against Dakota Hudson and the Rockies. Garrett Stubbs will fill in behind the plate and bat eighth.

Phillies' Yunior Marte: Beginning rehab assignment
Rotowire
Marte (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.
Marte has been on the injured list since early May due to shoulder inflammation, but he has now been given the green light to test his shoulder in a game environment. It's unclear how long the 29-year-old reliever will remain in the minors, but he will presumably return to a middle relief role with the Phillies once he comes back from the IL.

Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Yields one run in Colorado
Rotowire
Sanchez did not factor into the decision Friday against the Rockies, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out two.
Despite allowing eight baserunners, Sanchez managed to hold the Rockies offense in check with a 52.5 percent groundball rate. Surprisingly, the Phillies lefty collected only two strikeouts despite generating 11 whiffs in his 83 total pitches. Sanchez has thrown 54.1 innings this season, producing a 3.15 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 49:19 K:BB. The 27-year-old is currently scheduled to face the Giants on the road in his next start.

Phillies' Jose Alvarado: Suffers first blown save
Rotowire
Alvarado blew the save Friday against the Rockies. He allowed one run on two hits and no walks over one inning while striking out two.
Alvarado looked to be cruising to another save after striking out Jordan Beck and Hunter Goodman to start the bottom of the ninth inning. However, pinch hitter Jacob Stallings and his career .340 slugging percentage had different plans, crushing a 427-foot solo home run to hand Alvarado his first blown save in 2024. The flame-throwing lefty sports a 3.63 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB in 22.1 innings this season.

Phillies' Jeff Hoffman: Earns fourth save
Rotowire
Hoffman picked up the save in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Rangers, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.
Jose Alvarado pitched the eighth inning Thursday, leaving the ninth to Hoffman who'd set down the Rangers in order for his fourth save of the year. The Phillies continue to utilize a high-leverage approach to their bullpen, which has resulted in save opportunities for Hoffman when Alvarado is needed earlier in games. The 31-year-old right-hander has been excellent this year, posting a 1.25 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP and 29:7 K:BB across 21.2 innings.

Phillies' Zack Wheeler: Goes seven innings in win
Rotowire
Wheeler (6-3) earned the win Thursday over the Rangers, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out five.
After Adolis Garcia led off the second inning with a home run, Wheeler held the Rangers off the board until Ezequiel Duran's two-out RBI single in the seventh. It's the sixth win in Wheeler's last seven starts, and he's pitched at least seven innings in back-to-back outings and three of his last four. His ERA sits at 2.53 on the season with a 0.98 WHIP and 76:21 K:BB in 67.2 innings. Wheeler is currently lined up for a road matchup with the Giants in his next start.

Stats
-
Phillies' Wen Hui Pan: Recovering from broken pinky
Rotowire
Pan is on the 60-day injured list with High-A Jersey Shore due to a broken pinky on his throwing hand, Matt Winkelman of Phillies Minor Thoughts reports.
Pan logged 63.2 innings across Single-A and High-A last year, and this injury could prevent him from surpassing that workload in his second pro season. The 21-year-old righty has good stuff, but he only eclipsed three innings in one appearance last year, so there's some bullpen risk long term.

Phillies' TJayy Walton: Out with undisclosed injury
Rotowire
Single-A Clearwater placed Walton on the 7-day injured list May 11 with an undisclosed injury.
The 19-year-old outfielder had a .237/.348/.407 slash line with two home runs, four steals and a 29 percent strikeout rate in 17 games before lading on the IL. Walton has big raw power and above-average speed, but his hit tool needs some refinement.

Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Recovering from thumb injury
Rotowire
Rincones, who is on the 7-day injured list with Double-A Reading, tore a ligament in his right thumb on April 24 and could return in the middle of July, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
A 6-foot-3 lefty slugger, Rincones got off to a great start before the injury, slashing .300/.417/.600 with four home runs, four steals and a 26.7 percent strikeout rate in 60 plate appearances. This injury may prevent Rincones from pushing for a big-league debut in his age-23 season.

Phillies' Brandon Marsh: Idle against southpaw
Rotowire
Marsh is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
The lefty-hitting Marsh will bow out of the starting nine for the series finale as the Phillies face off against a lefty (Andrew Heaney) in a day game after a night game. Whit Merrifield will step in for Marsh in left field and bat eighth.

Rojas is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Another multi-hit game
Rotowire
Realmuto went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, two additional RBI and an additional run scored during Wednesday's 11-4 win over the Rangers.
Realmuto has generated a hit in 12 consecutive games and has reached via hit multiple times in six of those contests. However, Wednesday's solo homer off Dane Dunning was his first of that stretch and his three RBI were his most since April. Realmuto is batting .377 with three doubles and 11 runs scored during his hit streak.

Stats
-
Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Swats three-run homer
Rotowire
Sosa went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Wednesday's 11-4 win over the Rangers.
The shortstop tagged Jonathan Hernandez for a round-tripper in the fourth inning, plating Nick Castellanos and Brandon Marsh. The long ball was Sosa's second of the campaign and his first in 51 at-bats, dating back to April 7. Since Trea Turner (hamstring) was placed on the injured list May 4, Sosa is 11-for-37 (.297) with 12 runs and nine RBI.
