Specialties
At Floyd’s 99, we mix old-school client service with the appeal of experienced, talented staff in a high energy barbershop environment. Floyd’s 99 stylists and barbers are encouraged to display their individuality from their personal fashion and hairstyles, to taste in music. No two shops are the same, as the walls are plastered with posters of current and timeless bands and musical artists.
At Floyd’s 99, our approach is to keep services simple, providing quality cuts, shaves, and styles to the masses with our accessible pricing model. With cuts starting at $ 21 and color at $ 45, our brand delivers a rockin’ haircut at a value price. To top it all off, every client’s experience is complete with our signature shoulder massage.
Walk-in service is the norm, but clients can also call ahead to be put on a wait list (just like in restaurants), or call anytime on the day they’d like to come in and make a reservation with their favorite stylist or barber. Appointments are recommended, though, for those wanting face and head shaves and coloring services. Clients can even check out individual stylist and barber schedules on our website.

Floyd’s 99 Barbershops were founded on service. Brothers, Paul, Rob and Bill O’Brien have always been passionate about the experience of both their employees and clients. Understanding that satisfied employees equal satisfied clients, the O’Briens have dedicated themselves to running a business that promotes and builds quality relationships. At Floyd’s 99, we look for likeminded people who share our same values, have integrity, and do the right thing, even when no one is looking. We give back to the communities we serve, and strive toward excellence – always aiming to grow, improve, and make a positive difference, as individuals and as a company.

Marcus gave our son a great haircut! We will definitely be back. Love being able to make appointments. Thanks to Marcus!

The skills here between barbers vary immensely, we’re talking someone who will match a style to your facial structures and make you look great (Marcus) to someone who can’t even do a simple faux hawk when given a picture of all angles.
I was looking for Marcus today, but he was out so I chose a barber that was free at the time. I had Melvin as my barber and I gave him a picture of a simple faux hawk, nothing complicated to it, not too short on the sides around and a 3 inch peak for the top.
I was positioned in a manner that I was not able to see the work being done until it was finished, my hair was butchered. I pretty much got a buzz cut with a little hump going. If it’s not Marcus, I won’t be coming back here anytime soon.

It took five years from living in Los Angeles my entire life then moving to Dallas but I finally got a really good haircut that reminds me of the best stylists that I’ve ever experienced. Right on Melvin, you got what it takes.

Ask for Camila!!! She was awesome, straight to the point and all I had to do was show her a picture she had some input then went to work. She was friendly, fun, and made me feel comfortable. I’ll definitely be back!!!

I Called to make an appointment for my boyfriend 30 min ahead. The girl on the phone was very polite and helpful. Upon arrival we were greeted by the receptionist and immediately the barber came up. Jose did an excellent job, he took his time and did exactly what he asked for. The floyd’s cut even included a neck shave. It was a very good price for the service.

I was excited to see this shop open up in Coppell. This place has a really cool energy about it. I walked in without an appointment and was told there was a fifteen minute wait but I was in the barber chair in like five.
I don’t remember my stylist’s name but she was super friendly and attentive. We made small talk about movies while she cut my hair and she would stop me every now and then to make sure she was still on track with what I was wanting, I wish more barbers would do that.
If you’ve never been to Floyd’s I would definitely recommend it, everyone at the front desk was super nice, it was affordable and most importantly they know how to cut hair attentively.
I will be going back!

I wanted to try this place out so I set up an appointment for 11:30am. This was early in the day on a weekday so I figured there should not be much of a wait. I arrived a minute or two early, and checked in then proceeded to wait and wait for my haircut to start. After 30 minutes of sitting there waiting, with nobody saying anything to me about the wait I got up and left. I told them to cancel my appointment, and the desk staff didn’t seem to care that I had sat there for nothing for over 30 minutes.
This has honestly been my worst experience at a barber shop ever, and I will never make the mistake of trying to get my hair cut here again.

My husband normally goes to the Flower Mound location, he tried the Coppell location today and he won’t be back. Destiny was his hair dresser, she clearly does not know how to blend different lengths. Definitely beware when coming to this shop.

So I am really picky about my hair. I have really long hair and an ombré. I needed a root touch up and wanted to have it fade in to my already existing ombré and was in dire need of a haircut! I was given Allison and not only did she do a great job but she was adorable, conversational, and has a great touch. For a place where it seems mostly men go there I was more wowed with her service and quality than some of the fancy salons around. I will definitely be going back! Kudos to Allison!

Brought my 2 year son in yesterday to get a cut. Awesome prices. $ 15 which is the same price or cheaper than all the other kid haircut places. Didn’t make an appointment, just walked in and we were seated immediately. It’s a fun, funky place. Stylist was bed Camila and she was fantastic. Very sweet! Gave my son a handheld mirror and let play with shaving cream while he got his hair cut. What a great idea! We’ll be back for his next cut!

If you want to look like an idiot, have Shaunice? Cut your hair. I had a beard and she cut off my side burns leaving a bald patch between my beard and hair. I had to choose between looking like an idiot or shaving it off. Just an absolute lack of common sense.
Everyone else is great though.

I hate to leave a bad review of a place that just opened but… I have never gotten such a bad haircut. Thankfully, they made it right. First off, this place may have barbershop in the name but it is a salon.
I stopped in after work to get my hair cut and was paired with Destiny right away. I asked for a trim and some layers that would bring out my natural wave while keeping the length. I told her I didn’t want a shampoo and instead of spraying it with water like I’ve had done everywhere else, she cut it dry. Ok, trusting you know what you’re doing here since you’re the professional. She cuts my hair and when I look at it in the mirror, it looks fine. When I went to go pay, she comes up to show me a product she was telling me about and says «Oh, I guess I should have put some of this in your hair!» Which she proceeds to do… at the checkout. It was a bit awkward.
Fast forward about an hour and I’ve made it home and washed my hair to see how the wave will come out. That’s when I became horrified. I basically had two haircuts: a bob and then a long layer on the bottom with no layers in between. It looked absolutely ridiculous. I sent pictures to my cousin who is a hairstylist and she was appalled and told me to have it fixed and ask for a refund.
I went back and asked for someone else to fix it. I got paired with Marcus, bless him, who did a great job, complete with a wash and blowout. When I requested a refund, I was informed that the money would be transfered to Marcus instead and I was totally ok with that since he did a good job. Frankly, he’s the reason I’m not giving this place one star. Unfortunately, because of the way it was butchered, the fix involved my hair ending up several inches shorter than I started with. I’m not happy about that at all since I wanted it long for a wedding but that was not the fault of Marcus. He did the best he could with what was given to him.
The atmosphere is fun and the music wonderful (where else will you hear Smashing Pumpkins and Franz Ferdinand while getting your hair done?) but I did have an issue with the way the hair washing sinks and chairs are set up. Every station has it’s own sink and at 5′ tall, I’m just too small for it to work. It was super uncomfortable to get my hair washed.
I have never in my life been so upset with a hair cut and while it was fixed, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to this salon again.
