Someone just posted this on the recruiting board as a rumor coming from the Miami 247 site. Not sure if true but if Saban may be on the war path.

Cormani McClain visiting Bama?
Looks like Saban paid him a visit Monday night.

“I’m NOT reporting this” to "If I say something, you guys are going to get mad", it's def been a tough ride

Hank is trying to confirm in cormani is planning on visiting. And in the least shocking news, Tim expects Luckie Lawson in the class.

Rivals Rankings Week: A look at the top player at each defensive position
quote:
Defensive tackle: James Smith“When the Friday night lights came on in Montgomery, Ala., the last place anyone wanted to be was on the opposite side of defensive tackle James Smith. When the Carver High School talent flipped the switch, he dominated games with his size and power. Opposing teams dedicated two offensive linemen and often a tailback to help protect their quarterback to no avail. Smith is one of the few interior defenders who can apply pressure up the middle and play the run.
”Along the recruiting trail, Smith has his pick of programs with official visits taken to Georgia, Auburn, Florida and a planned Dec. 9 trip to Alabama.” - Ryan Wright, national recruiting analyst

Cornerback: Cormani McClain“McClain is one of the few players critics cannot poke holes at with his play on the field. The Lakeland standout has the size, wingspan, speed and skills to cover any type of receiver. He can press, play off, and has the awareness to know when to come off his man to make a play. The hips are quick, and he can cover without a handful of a receiver’s jersey.
"It won’t take long for McClain to become one of the best corners in the ACC, suiting up for the Miami Hurricanes.” - Wright

Safety: Caleb Downs“In a crowded field, Downs has proven to be the best of the best over and over again. The senior season was something extra special, contributing in all three phases of the game for his Mill Creek squad.
"The Alabama commit was an impact player on offense but showed why he was a five-star on defense, tallying 70 tackles with five picks. As a safety, Downs can do it all playing in space, defending the run and covering down the field.” - Wright

Recruiting Rumor Mill: Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game
quote:
Alabama trying to keep Collins in-stateGardendale (Ala.) four-star defensive end Kelby Collins has been committed to Florida since August, but that won’t stop Alabama from trying to pull some late magic for one of the state’s top talents.
Collins sees an appeal to stay in-state and compete for national championships at Alabama, but Florida’s comfortability and vision for Collins as early as his freshman season keeps him committed to the Gators. Collins is done with visits before signing in a couple of weeks but each program will come in-home between now and then.

Perkins set to officially visit Ole Miss amid Alabama pushFlip rumors around Raleigh (Miss.) four-star linebacker Suntarine Perkins have permeated through the air of Mississippi for months as Alabama has continued to push the talented defender away from his Ole Miss pledge. With Signing Day around the corner, Perkins will officially visit Ole Miss this upcoming weekend after the conclusion of the event before hosting Alabama for an in-home visit ahead of Signing Day.
Perkins remains comfortable with both staffs while players committed to both schools have been in his ear throughout the week. One interesting note in this recruitment is that Perkins is not an early enrollee, so if he decides to push to February, he will have that option.

A potential Alabama sleeper?Early in his career, Alabama wide receiver Sawyer Deerman added a number of Power Five offers and it looked like he was going to achieve his dream of playing in the SEC. But when his team needed him to switch positions to quarterback he did what was asked of him, playing two seasons under center despite being just 5-foot-10, 160 pounds. While he had success at quarterback, the move hurt his ability to add quality film at his natural position of wide receiver and many opportunities he thought he would have dried up.
But one school, Alabama, has kept in touch with Deerman and is working to find a way for him in the 2023 class. Deerman impressed at the Crimson Tide camp over the summer and could be back on campus for a visit next week. The question is, will he take a walk-on opportunity that could potentially offset by NIL opportunities, or hold out for a conventional offer from the Tide or someone else. Right now, Deerman is playing the waiting game, but believes with his impressive week in Mobile, a full-ride spot at a major program could open up. In the meantime, a chance to play for the Tide isn’t exactly the worse backup plan.

Jeremiah Cobb, Yhonzae Pierre make big jumps in Rivals250 rankings

On Tuesday, Rivals released their updated Rivals250 rankings, which features 20 total prospects from the state of Alabama. We profile the five biggest stock risers within the Yellowhammer State.
quote:
Yhonzae PierreCURRENT RANKING: 50
PREVIOUS RANKING: 92
DIFFERENCE: +42
The longtime Alabama commit recorded 64 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and 23 tackles for loss to go along with five forced fumbles and five pass break-ups during his senior season. Combine those numbers with his size, speed, and physicality, well, that's a recipe for a dominant player.
